PrimeTime MMA Sniper Gloves - We affectionately call this glove “The Sniper". Why, you may ask? Well it’s a sneaky way to get the max out of a 4oz glove. Not getting it yet? Consider the following;
Most gloves are built with 4 oz of padding that is built up on a standard foundation based on the size of the fighters hand. The, sniper, on the other hand, has 4 oz. of padding that is dispersed on a wider base. The result is that the padding is thinner. The benefit, is that you have an extremely flexible glove (for grappling) that packs a whallop when you’re striking the opponent. If your strength is G&P (ground and pound) and submission than this glove is for you
FAQ – What is the primary difference between the PT900 and PT981 Competition Gloves? Both gloves are built for competition but the key is based on a fighters strengths and preferences. If you’re a stand up striker, the PT900 ‘Stopper Glove’ is a glove built to your fight style. The padding (still 4 oz.) is built up higher on the knuckles for better protection and the wrist wrap is longer for an extra measure of support.
If you prefer to take your opponent to the ground for some G&P (Ground & Pound) or submission, you need the max in flexibility and as well as a hard hitting ‘sniper’ glove. This is the PT981. Built with an open palm and thumb, this glove has 4 oz of padding dispersed over a wider base. This means the padding is thinner (but still 4 oz.) which gives you more flexibility and provides the means to put a hurt on your opponent. Sneaky, smart or both? You decide!
